The magic of GiGi...second time around!

Everyone who knows Mark, knows that GiGi is his very favorite best friend.  So much so, that his big sister searched the ends of the earth and had a new one sent to us as a Christmas surprise from California!  Some how although the new one is exactly the same...it is not the same!  So when Marissa entered our family, Mark would let her hold the new GiGi on special occasions. Note her very happy face in the fourth photo.  Momma knew that he still favored the old GiGi even though she had lost most of her mane and nearly all of her tail!  I bought some real wool yarn and was able to re-thread the mane and tail by carefully pushing it through the seam line and tying the yarn in a knot to hold it in.  So as Bob the Builder would say the old GiGi is "as good as new".  Mark is very happy and Marissa, well Marissa also likes the old GiGi best, but has to snuggle with her only after Mark has left for school...ie the last two photos.  Nothing beats an old GiGi!  It seems this is a two children, two GiGi household.  Long live GiGi! I showed the photo to Mark and he asked "Is that my old GiGi?".  When I told him it was, he said "That's ok, so long as I can have her when I get home from school.  Right Mom?"  Right son she is your GiGi.  What a generous little lad to trust Marissa with his most valued possession!  Someday I hope she realizes the significance of this generous act.  What a good big brother.
