Crazy, I'm so crazy....
Today's theme is how can kids, even the very best, most wished and prayed for kids, drive you crazy! Momma was so proud to dress up her little Miss and finished the outfit with a flower hair pretty. This is where Mark's vigilant eyes spotted it an hour later! Never in a million years would I have ever thought to look in the tailpipe of the truck for it! Not to mention that the laws of physics would never have put it in my line of vision. The same thing happened when we were on the hunt for the Fisher Price baby for Mark's family. We searched in all the obvious places ie. the big chair, under the Lazy Boy and all over the floor, toy boxes etc. Here is where I found it days later! You have to appreciate what the photos do not show well, is that Momma converted a book case of unread books into a handy VHS tape holder for the kids movies that we watch on a daily basis. The whole bookcase is full of movies and below my eye line, here is the baby tucked neatly into bed...on top of the Bob the Builder movie. Why would I not think to look there! So far our darling Marissa has locked the car door with her lightning fast button pushing...thank goodness my keys were in my pocket and not my purse, locked me out of the bathroom...thank goodness I can unlock it with a screwdriver from the outside, locked me out of the house at the back door when I went to feed the pond fish...thank goodness I can run to the other door faster than she can and yesterday she locked me out of the fifth wheel trailer when I dashed off to get us some snacks, even though she was sitting quietly watching the movie "Up" when I skipped out to get a box of crackers for us...thank goodness Daddy had just given me the keys to the trailer two days before to store in the breadbox. I didn't even know that we had keys for the trailer! Just now after wondering "What is that noise?"...I have discovered the furnace on with the thermostat turned up to 80 degrees...even though every window in the house is open! Mark of course finds all of this hilarious because he was never into anything like this. Marissa, Marissa, Marissa you are keeping me on my toes! Looking back I am sure that it will all be funny, but in the moment, a panic sets in when you know that you are quite helpless and looking like a fool, pounding on a door and yelling "Marissa, open the door!" She on the other hand has no idea what she has done, nor does she have any idea how to "fix" my problem! Sweet Jesus, when I put my head down at night I have a laugh at the days events. But in that moment of panic you are making me a crazy woman!

I confess that I am laughing so hard that I have tears streaming down my cheeks! Oh Marissa, you little stinker you! She has locked our bathroom door several times, done the same to our friend's bathroom door, managed to alert our church nursery to the fact that we need a second key for the baby room, and almost 10 weeks since she left our home, we are STILL finding hair pretties in the craziest of places! We get it and then some! :) Give the little minx a huge hug from us! And please tell Mark that he is a good sport! Lots of love, the vanB's
