Where has all the summer gone...long time passing!
I wanted to share these summer photos of a day that Mark and I spent at the park in Dutton. We had the park to ourselves and it was quite a bit of fun just to hang out together. I am pretty sure that Daddy was away that weekend fishing, so after church Mommy took Mark to the Lions club breakfast. The park was right there beside the club, so we took the time to just play. Mark wanted to ride the whale because there is a whale in the Little Bear cartoons named "Mighty". He was also at the "helm" of the "ship" steering the boat and yelling over the side to Mighty to "pull...pull harder" as he had beached himself on the shore and Father Bear had tied a rope around him and was pulling with the boat to free him. Mark has also named his two blue/black Beta fish "Mighty" and "Mrs. Mighty". They have a divided tank because they will fight if they are together...hummm? It is interesting how children will replay the characters and the scenes of the cartoons to such detail. It has to be exactly as seen on the TV. They play what they see which is comforting to me knowing that Mark will only be playing things that I have allowed him to see thus far. We do not have cable TV and only have old VHS tapes or DVD's that I have purchased that are acceptable for him to see. So far the most violence he has seen has been some old Bonanza DVD's or the John Wayne movies that his Dad loves so much. Daddy and Mommy have pretty much given up the TV to Mark so that he can see his "age appropriate" shows. I must admit that we have head butted a bit about Daddy wanting to see something more adult, however Momma says Rockey and Clint Eastwood shows are too violent for his age. Hopefully Mark will continue to like his children's programs for a long time to come. He has graduated from the Wiggles and Little Bear to Franklin and Bob the Builder. He is getting a bit older and can follow the story line now. So far so good. The minute he wants to watch a horror movie or have a pet snake he's gonna have to go! Only kidding son...about going that is. But still no scary movies or pet snakes! You are growing up way too fast!
