In case you were wondering...yep GiGi is still Mark's best friend!
Here are some photos that Doug took in the spring when we were getting our RCMP fingerprints done in London for the supposed adoption from Vietnam :( I wanted to post the photos for two reasons. The first is that yes GiGi is still Mark's best friend and constant companion. He lets her stay in the car while he is in school, but Momma put a photo of her in the front of his backpack in case he feels the need to look at her. Since the day in this photo we do not let her leave the car unless it is to come back into the house. I still hope that we will find a replacement some day, even if it is just to put in his memory box. The day we went to this office to get the fingerprints done we had a very near miss in losing her! We were very busy getting our prints done so Mommy and Daddy had to take turns being with Mark while each went through the process. It was a very nice afternoon and we were in the office alone with the one gentleman who was serving us. When all was done we left and had to walk around the corner of the building to the car. As I was loading Mark into the car seat he asked "Where is GiGi?". Momma just had that sinking in your gut feeling of OMG...where is she!!! I ran back to the door but it was already locked! The office was only open on Saturday from one to three p.m. and I knew that we were leaving just as the guard was closing the office down. Panic, banging on the door, banging on the glass, running around to the side of the building yelling at Doug to stand at the back driveway entrance of the parking lot to make sure that he could not leave or get out of the building without us seeing him. It was then that an elderly man passing by started calling to me "Miss, Miss, ... there is a man at the front door"... I ran back and explained to the guard that GiGi was missing and this was important enough for him to let me back into the building to go look for her. In my panic I stated that I could not figure out how he had been able to get away so fast, when he sheepishly told me that he had simply locked the door and gone to the washroom! Feeling like an idiot, I apologized and quickly looked for Mark's best friend! We found her sitting on a chair waiting patiently for her master! Here is the thing...Daddy said "Well you will have to call them on Monday and see if anyone found her"....huh? What the %$#@!!!!! I'm pretty sure this Momma would have done a B & E if that man had not come back to the door. Yep...I would have kicked in the basement window of a security firm to find a way in ;) to save my son's best friend! That makes this Momma a Super Hero! So if anyone comes across another spare GiGi let us know. It may just keep me out of prison!
