Launching a new family adventure! Welcome to our "Scots Mist"

This family has been exploring our options in regard to the fact that our son Mark really loves the sea.  Ever since he was really small he would play out the scenes of Little Bear and his fisherman father and their adventures with the whale "Mighty".  So much so that his Betta fish is named Mighty.  So we have had a few trips out in the small fishing boat but this past summer Mark has told Daddy that this boat is "way too small for the big lake".  Momma shares Marks feelings completely so here is what Daddy brought home today!  After much searching and negotiating in regard to price...for which we are assured that Daddy practically "stole that boat", here is our new hobby.  To quote Mark..."Daddy, you are the best!".  Momma could not agree more.  Yes Daddy you are the best Father and husband to this family.  Here is the day in a bevy of photos.  Oh the places we will go!

Saying the kids were a bit excited would be the understatement of the year.  Here they are cheering Daddy on.  You see he did not tell them that the "Scots Mist" was on her way home today.  Imagine their surprise when Momma told them to look out the window.
Here she be...our new ship.  One fine ol gal  Safe waters ahead.
Wow...someone should put this shot in a movie!  Bound to be a hit.
This is the cabin but the photo was taken after we had taken the cushions out.  The rain got them a bit damp so I brought them into the house to the furnace room to dry out.
Lots of stuff to learn in managing a boat of this size.  Mark was looking for the gas pedal!
We are accumulating quite a pile of stuff around this place.  Lord please keep the old King Ranch going for a while.  We cannot afford a new truck right now.
Captain Momma with the gally hand in the background!
Mark still has his Halloween Minion face paint on.  He has that look of disbelief that he actually has a big boat.
I can see his little mind just reeling it all in.  Wow.  This ship comes with everything.  Fishing poles, binoculars, sink, stove, fridge, toilet...everything including the tools and cutlery!
Yep it is all to his liking!
Not to be outdone...Marissa had her turn at being Captain of the ship.  She is a natural...
Right on the radio seeing if anyone was out there to visit with.
What?...I'm just talking to someone right now.
Anyone with a daughter will recognize this look..."Yes what would you like...I'm just sooo cool right now.  Oh yeah!"
Here is the crew waiting for Daddy to start the engine.  Oh well it will be a while because we are not going anywhere until next summer.  To quote Mark..."Mom it's going to be a long winter."  Yes son it will be a long old wait for our fun in the sun.
Welcome home Scots Mist.  We are so happy you have come to be with our family.  We plan to have lots of fun with you next summer.  We are so blessed!  All good things come to those who serve the Lord.  We are family and we are having a blast here on the farm lake!

Hmmm, Matt was talking about all of going out on a boat one summer. And I was thinking that we should do something next August for our five year-aversary....hmm, might be time for some Scotch!
