Winter butterflies...snow day fun!
What do children do when they wake up to a school snow day? Grab the sled and head for the hills you say...not my kiddos...they put on their butterfly wings and flew around the house.
Why the puffy cheeks? I have no idea...apparently well fed butterflies have puffy cheeks. These butterflies are also elusive and a bit camera shy so these are the only photos that I could capture.I think it was Mark's lack of pj bottoms that made him a bit shy. He hates being hot and thus will only wear short sleeves and no pj pants to bed. Thank goodness he is still in pull ups at night. I fear the future. Will my son be a commando kind of guy?
When the butterflies are tired, monster fingers are a handy way to scare Mommy into making some lunch! Hurray for snow days...more bacon please!
So far this winter we have had two snow days. Both days were way too cold to go outside. Wind chills and blowing snow prevented any snowman building or sledding. Last night though there was a light dusting of some nice packing snow and Marissa was able to make some snow angels in the fresh snow of the school parking lot. I am sure that the teachers will have a few smiles as they walk their way into work this morning. An elusive snow angel came through the night and left her prints in the snow. Happy snow days everyone.
