The Queen Bee turned Three on September 30, 2014!

Marissa chose a carrot cake for her birthday which was a nice surprise for Mommy and Daddy because the sugary icing on normal birthday cake tends to be a bit much at times.  I think she liked the icing carrot on top so Momma did her best to dress it up a bit with some of her Pet shop characters.  She did catch the devil though when she poked a hole in the carrot when Momma went to get the candles out of the cupboard!  When I turned around again to get something else I caught her with her tongue on the cake licking icing off!!!  Seems this girl figured she had been told to stop poking at the carrot with her finger and saw no reason to not use her tongue on the other part of the cake.  She really thinks outside the box and interprets things quite literally!  The end result was time out for the Madam so that she had time to think about the meaning of what Momma was saying not just following the rules as she wanted to perceive them.
She enjoyed her presents of a Dora roller coaster of Mega Blocks, a Tinkerbell movie and the play dough and book that Aunt Edwina and Uncle Paul sent from New York.  Actually Aunt Edwina gave it to me in the summer to keep safe until now and thankfully I remembered where I hid it on time for the day!

Marissa seemed to really enjoy her day and it is wonderful to see how excited she got waiting for Daddy to come home with Mark.  It must have been really hard for her being three for the whole day before she could actually celebrate.  Momma did her best to keep her excitement going so it could be enjoyed by the rest of the gang at supper time.  The happiest news came with an email on her birthday saying that her final adoption papers have been approved and we have an appointment to go to Hamilton to sign these on October 7, 2014!!!  The best gift of all...a family of her very own.  You are our daughter, Mark's sister and the joy of all of our lives!  Happy Birthday Queen Bee.  You are a very treasured young Miss.
