Stumpy and Mom Missy
Suzie
Suzie with Mom Dorie
Two of our spring calves have arrived! We are not sure if the other two cows actually were successful in our AI breeding last year but so far we have two calves on the ground. The first was born on May 6th to our cow Missy and is a bull named "Stumpy" because he has one white leg that makes him look one legged at the front. The other calf was born this afternoon on May 16th and is a heifer born to our cow Dorie. I have named her "Suzie" because we are going to keep the first initials the same for each breeding year. We are thrilled with the heifer as she will be a keeper! The first two photos are of Stumpy and Mom and the last three are of Suzie. You can see from her cord that she had just been born and Momma had not yet passed the placenta! They do not get much newer than that! Enjoy the first wobbly steps...I love this time of year!
