The first day of school was September 5, 2013.  Because they started the Jr Kindergarten class in two waves, Mark having the last name Schell had him start on the Thursday.  He was late to bed and was actually up playing with his doll family in bed until after midnight!  Momma thought it was going to be a fight to get him up early for school but actually it was not too bad.  Thank goodness there will be no more naps at the babysitter as I am sure that is what made it so hard to get him to sleep at night.  Anyway Mark was excited to get up, although a bit sleepy.  He wanted his new backpack and lunch pail and insisted on carrying it to school himself.  I had to convince him that it had to sit on the floor while on route to the school as he was determined to wear it in his car seat.  Daddy took the day off so that he could come along and capture everything on video and in photos.  What a pair of parents we must have looked like to others.  At least we were there earlier than anyone at 7:15 a.m. because Mark will be in the before and after school care program.  This works out great for Mommy because she can drop him off at the school and go to work not worried about how he will be...kind of like one stop shopping.  His new daycare worker is named Amy and he really likes her.  She is a new graduate and seems to have an easy nature.  The children were very comfortable right away.  I will have to post more of his first day in further blog posts as there is not room for all of the photos and comments in one section.  He had a great day and I will post the later in the day photos tomorrow.  As for now this Momma is tired and I still have to pack his lunch and fill in some of the dreaded paperwork they keep sending home in his backpack!  What a great start to the rest of your school life... how many first days of school will there be?
