If I had a hammer, I'd hammer in the morning...The Princess Nest

I am doing a bit more catching up here.  Since we only had a few days to prepare the Princess Nest (actually only one day), it was not possible to strip the two hundred years of wall paper that I did for Mark's room.  I wanted Marissa in the room across the hall from Mark and it was a good thing as it has a very pretty tiny pink flower print.  You cannot see it in the photos but I had added a running horses border to the top a few years ago and it has proven to be sufficient for our little Princess.  She is quite happy and comments on her "orsey running".  The poster is one from 1994 as a promotional for the Royal Agricultural Fair in Toronto and I thought very appropriate for our future 4H club member.  Marissa has shown way more interest in the farm and the animals than Mark has.  I think as Daddy says, "She will be the one streaking across the hay field, on her pony, with her hair on fire!"  I have to agree.  From what I have seen so far this child will push life to its furthest limits.  Our job will be to keep up with her.  I can see us trying to get her ready for the show and getting all the livestock loaded to get to whatever fair she wants to compete at.  I suspect we will be the road crew and the financial back-up plan for her efforts.  Will it be horses?  Will she show cattle?  Maybe she will convince her Dad to get her some goats or a llama.  Whatever she chooses, I am sure that this girl will love living on the farm.  As for the wall paper stripping...someday I will move her into the guest room while I get the job done.  For now I just want to sit with her and look at the animals on the poster and dream of where this child will take us!
